Usman’s cricketing journey began at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, where he was part of the bronze medal-winning team. The excitement of that victory fueled his passion for the sport.
Encouraged by cricket coach Darren Berry, Usman ventured to Australia and played for the Adelaide Cricket Club in the 2012–13 season. His skills were soon recognized, and in September 2018, he signed a contract with the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League, Australia’s premier T20 competition.
Despite facing challenges, Usman showcased his talent, making his debut for Western Australia in the 2018-19 JLT One-Day Cup. His exceptional performance, taking 3 wickets for 50 runs, contributed to Western Australia’s victory.
