Renuka Singh Thakur is a famous cricketer from India. She was born on 1 February 1996 in a beautiful place called Village Parsa in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. From playing cricket in her village near Kundi Nullah to playing for India on big stages, her journey is amazing.
Renuka loved cricket since she was a little girl. Her dad, Kehar Singh Thakur, worked hard for the public health department of government in Himachal Pradesh. He wanted Renuka and her brother Vinod to be great in sports. But, sadly, he passed away in 1999. After that, Renuka’s mom, Sunita Thakur, took care of the family. She worked hard and made sure Renuka and Vinod could chase their dreams.
Renuka started her studies at G.S.S. School in Dharamshala. After that, she went to JAV Senior Secondary School in Kangra. Later on, she studied at Guru Nanak Dev University and also went to Khalsa College in Amritsar.
Renuka’s uncle, Bhupender Singh Thakur, saw her talent and encouraged her to play cricket seriously. In 2009, she joined a cricket academy in Dharmshala. Soon, she played for Himachal Pradesh in Under-16 and Under-19 teams.
Her hard work paid off when she got a chance to play for India. She played her first T20 match against Australia in October 2021. Then, she played her first big international match against New Zealand in February 2022.
