Shikha Pandey was born on 12 May, 1889. Born in Andhra Pradesh, she moved to Goa when she was young. It was her father, Mr. Subash Pandey, who introduced her to cricket by giving her a toy bat when she was just 5 years old. But, books were Shikha’s first love. She was an excellent student, scoring over 90% on her exams.
She decided to study Electronics and Electrical Engineering in college. After graduating, she even became an Air Traffic Controller, a job she loved.
Taking a break from her job, Shikha decided to give cricket a serious try. Her talent was undeniable. She caught the attention of former cricketers like Surekha Bhandare and Purnima Rao, who saw her potential. Balancing her Air Force job and cricket was tough, but Shikha managed it with determination.
