Younis Khan’s family went through some very sad times. In 2005 and 2006, they faced a lot of losses. First, his father passed away when he was in Australia for a cricket tour.

Then, during England’s tour to Pakistan, his older brother Mohammed Sharif Khan, who taught Younis how to play cricket, died in a car accident in Ukraine. This was really sad because he was just 41 years old.

Later, another brother, Farman Ali Khan, also died in a car accident in Germany in December 2006. He was only 39.

Younis also had a father figure in his life, Bob Woolmer, who was like a second dad to him. But in 2007, after Pakistan’s exit from the World Cup, Bob passed away. Younis was very affected by this loss.

In 2011, while on a tour of the West Indies, Younis Khan’s older brother, Shamshad Khan, passed away in Germany, and Younis was allowed to return home early to be with his family. This was another tough time for him and his family.
