Early Life and Career
Iftikhar Ahmed started his professional cricket career in 2010 with the Peshawar Panthers. He then played for the WAPDA squad from 2011 to 2018. In his 2017 cricket debut for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Ahmed was the leading run-scorer in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy of 2017–18 season. He scored 735 runs in 11 matches.
On January 27, 2017, Ahmed made his debut in the 2016–17 Regional One Day Cup. In the final round, he scored 131 not out along with 3 wickets for only 12 runs. Ahmed along with Gauhar Ali jointly named as the man of the match in that tournament. He next then played for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the 2017 Pakistan Cup where Ahmed was the leading run-scorer with 244 runs in just 4 matches.
